Dare 6

Dare to Look Beneath the Mask
Most of us don’t realize how much of our life is lived from a mask we learned to wear.
We didn’t choose it on purpose.
We adapted.
We protected.
We learned what kept us safe, accepted, or in control.
But Scripture says God isn’t interested in the mask — He desires truth in the inward parts.
That’s where the real work happens.
Personality rushes to defend.
It needs to be right.
It hides.
It controls.
But who we really are doesn’t strain like that.
Your true nature doesn’t rush.
It doesn’t justify.
It doesn’t fear being seen.
It doesn’t need approval.
And here’s the good news:
Who we really are will arise without personality.
So today’s practice is simple — and powerful.
In the middle of tension, pause and ask:
“Is this my personality speaking… or my true nature?”
That one question creates space.
Space for honesty.
Space for God.
Space for truth to rise without force.
This isn’t about fixing yourself.
It’s about letting what’s false fall away.
Because truth beneath the mask doesn’t condemn —
it frees.
One gentle moment at a time
