Dare 3

I dare you to change the way you see your triggers. Being triggered isn’t a failure. I dare you to see it as information. Scripture calls us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry—why? Because our reactions reveal the exact moment we’ve stepped out of God’s presence and retreated back into the ‘Self.’

Psalm 91 begins with a promise: “Whoever DWELLS in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” I dare you to look at that word: DWELLS. Most of us don’t leave God’s presence in some dramatic, rebellious explosion. We step out quietly, in the ordinary, messy moments of the day.

I dare you to notice if you step out…

  • When you feel misunderstood.
  • When you feel disrespected.
  • When you are ignored or corrected.
  • Or when you feel exposed.

I dare you to realize that these are the moments you stop dwelling and start REACTING. Instead of judging yourself for the reaction, I dare you to just start noticing. At the end of every day, I want you to ask yourself two hard questions:

  1. When did I react instead of respond today?
  2. What story did I instantly tell myself the moment it happened?

I dare you to look at that story. That narrative is usually where you stopped abiding in Him and started defending yourself.

But here is the beauty: This isn’t about condemnation. It’s about Awareness. Because the very second you notice you’ve stepped out of His presence, you are free to step right back in.

I dare you to notice what triggers you today. Not to shame yourself, but to find your way back to the place where you were always meant to dwell.

Comment below: ‘I am dwelling.’ Let’s keep each other accountable to stay in the Shadow of the Almighty today. One moment at a time!
